We leave Lviv early in the morning and head to Oles`ko village to see the famous Oles`k Castle. This fortified manor is considered to be one of the oldest in Ukraine. You will be impressed with the marvelous interior and the biggest in Europe collection of wooden sculpture by Johann Georg Pinzel. The knowledgeable guide will provide historic and cultural commentary and tell you love story of Adam Zholkevsky and Martiana. You will also see two more landmarks of Oles’k village which are Capuchin Monastery with the Roman Catholic Church of St. Antony and Gothic Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity.
Then we will tour Pidhirtsi Castle which once was owned by Grand Crown Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. Being a combination of a Renaissance palace and a fortification building, the castle was considered to be one of the most beautiful fortified manors in Europe. We will also see some religious sites in Pidhirtsi. They are the Roman Catholic Church of St. Joseph and the Monastery of the Brothers of the Order of St. Basil the Great. En route we will visit Plisnets’k – Old Rus’ town which was the biggest in Europe at that time (160 ha).
We will end the tour visiting Zolochiv Castle with the small Chinese Palace on the territory (one out of 3 in Europe). You will also have an opportunity to see the armoury and its fortified courtyard, the Church of St. Nicolas, the Church of the Resurrection and the Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension.
